Insurer teams up with telehealth provider
TO make healthcare solutions more convenient, Allianz Malaysia has teamed up with DoctorOnCall to benefit its corporate partners.
Through the partnership, Allianz Malaysia’s Employee Benefits will be the first in the market to offer its partners this digital healthcare service.
DoctorOnCallwill provide Allianz corporate members access to qualified registered doctors at their convenience through text chat, phone call or video call.
As Malaysia’s first telehealth provider, DoctorOnCall’s services also extend to prescriptions, medical referrals and nationwide medication delivery with same-day delivery service currently offered in the Klang Valley, Penang and Johor Baru.
These services are also expected to result in improved and cost-effective management of chronic illnesses such as diabetes, cholesterol or hypertension which require constant monitoring and continuous assessment of prescriptions for long-term medication.
“As an insurer, it is absolutely vital to be dialled in to the current needs of our partners,” said Allianz Life Insurance Malaysia Berhad chief executive officer Joseph Gross.
“In fact, a number of partners have already expressed interest in the service given the quality, convenience and value for money,” Gross said.
DoctorOnCall currently has more than 80 Malaysian Medical Council-registered doctors and 208 pharmacies and has performed over 35,000 consultations
since its launch in 2016.
“This is a milestone for DoctorOnCall. Our blueprint is to improve healthcare access and delivery in Malaysia and we are delighted to partner with Allianz Malaysia to deliver a new-to-market service to its Employee Benefits partners,” said its co-founder and director Hazwan Najib.
