Google Search Console Adds Video Performance & Enhancement Reports

Google announced they have launched new Search Console reports for content. There is a video enhancement report to help you debug issues with your videos in Google search and there are video reports to show you how well your videos are doing in Google Search and Google Discover.

Before I show you the reports, here is where in search these videos can show up. On the left is normal web search, in the middle is video search results and on the right is Google Discover. Web search and video search are in the normal search performance report, whereas Discover is in the Discover performance report:

Video Performance Reports:

So you can access this video performance reports by clicking on either of the performance reports. If your site is in Google Discover, you will not just see the Search Performance report but also the Discover preference report. You can filter these reports with a new “search appearance” option for “video” and then you can start to dig into just how well your videos do in search.

Video in Search Performance report:

Here is a screen shot of my Search Performance report filtered by just video in the search appearance option. You can see, it shows me clearly which pages on my site are showing the top performing videos. Of course, you can dig in by query, page, county, device, and date like any Performance report:

Video in Discover Performance report:

Similar for Google Discover, but you need to first click on Discover on the left side, then filter by video in search appearance. In Discover you don’t see queries of course, nor do you see device but you see the rest:

Video Enhancement report:

Google also with this launched enhancement reports to show you debugging options for your video content on your site. Google said “A new report for “Videos” is now available in Search Console for sites that use structured data to annotate videos. The report allows you to see any errors and warnings for markup implemented on your site. When you fix an issue, you can use the report to validate if it was resolved by re-crawling your affected pages. Learn more about the rich result status reports.”

Here is a sample of the report (this is not mine, mine was pretty basic and not fun to look at):
