Google’s New How Google News Works Portal

launched a new portal named How Works on Google. This is similar to the How Search Works portal Google launched in 2013 and revamped a couple times but now for news.

Google said this how news works on Google portal “outlines the objectives of our work, the principles we follow and the approaches we take in the design of news experiences in Google products.” It covers the purpose of Google News, how to make sense of the news, how they try to sustain a healthy news ecosystem and it digs into those topics.

Honestly, if you are an avid reader here, you won’t learn anything new on this portal. But it is nice to see Google make such a portal, I just wish there were some data points there that we can reference back to as things change. But no.

In any event, it is worth scanning through the How News Works on Google portal when you have 10 minutes.

Since Glenn screen grabbed a lot of the interesting parts, not new things but interesting stuff we all know, I’ll include them here, just in case Google changes them:
