Apple Is Opening Its Second Store In Southeast Asia… But It’s Not Gonna Be In Malaysia | Digital Asia

With two weeks left ’til its official , the tech giant has confirmed that it will be opening the region’s second Store in Bangkok, Thailand.

Though still under construction, the Apple Store is set to open its doors on 10 November at Bangkok’s soon-to-be largest mall IconSiam.

The Iconsiam complex, which overlooks the Chao Praya River, will house two shopping malls, a department store, a 3,000-seat auditorium, an amusement park, a fitness centre, and residential buildings.

The Thai store follows the opening of the region’s first ever brick-and-mortar Apple Store in Singapore, which opened in May last year.

    • Like its Singaporean predecessor, the Bangkok outpost is expected to have all the quintessential fittings of an Apple Store, including a Genius Bar. Beyond its retail offerings, the store will also cater for creative workshops and jam sessions.

If you’re wondering if the tech giant is launching more Apple Stores in Southeast Asia, the answer is yes… but don’t hold your breath for one in Malaysia just yet.

Citing a source within the real estate industry, Tech reported that Apple is considering expanding to Jakarta, Indonesia or Vietnam instead.
