The company was founded 5 years ago, when the Cambodian startup ecosystem was still nascent
Cambodia-based startup Meal Temple Group has raised a six-figure round from private Australian and European investors. The amount was undisclosed.
The company, which operates food delivery platform MealTemple.com and grocery delivery platform GroceryDelivery.asia. which use the newly-raised funding to grow its local operations and extend its logistics services to more verticals — though, it did specify which industries.
Founded in 2013, Meal Temple Group was launched in the early days of Cambodia’s tech ecosystem. Today, its delivery services collectively makes 10,000 monthly trips in Phnom Penh, Siem Reap and Sihanoukville.

“The Cambodian market is getting more and more attraction with regional players such as Grab or Go-Jek, but our very local business model and operations has already allowed us to beat Rocket Internet-based ventures in the past and other big players. Cambodia is definitely the last El Dorado of Southeast Asia for startups to thrive,” said Founder of Meal Temple Group, Maxime Rosburger.
“We are thrilled to raise money from top knowledgeable investors, who have experience in similar emerging markets around the world and that will enable us to move to the next step,” he added.
The company has a team of 30 people located in a heart of Phnom Penh, including drivers, a call centre and a management team. It also has a tech team of 10 people outside of the country. The company expects to grow rapidly in Cambodia as well as expand to neighbouring Laos in the future.
