How to Hide WhatsApp Images and Videos from Gallery | How To

By default, the downloaded WhatsApp images and videos are shown in the gallery.

However, if you prefer, you can hide them from the gallery.

And, the best thing is you don’t need any third-party app to do this task and let’s see how to do this task.

For individual Contact or Group

Open WhatsApp.
Long press the chat and you can see Overflow Menu (three vertical dots) beside “Archive.” Tap it.
Hit on the “Group info” which you can find between “Add chat shortcut” and “Mark as unread.”
Now, under “Custom notifications,” you can see “Media visibility.” Hit it.
In the popup, tap “No” and then hit “OK.”

That’s all. From now on, the newly downloaded images and videos from this chat will not be shown in the gallery. Keep in mind that the existing ones are still displayed in the gallery.

For All WhatsApp Contacts and Groups

Open WhatsApp.
Hit the Overflow Menu (three vertical dots) at the top.
Tap “Settings” which you can find below “Starred messages.”
Tap “Chats.”
Now under “Media visibility,” you can see “Show media in gallery.” Tap on it.

That’s all. From now on, the newly downloaded images and videos of the entire WhatsApp will not be shown in the gallery. Remember that the existing ones are still displayed in the gallery.
