WhatsApp Archive Chat feature allows us to hide WhatsApp chat from the “chats” screen.
It is a simple task and we can do it in a minute. Without further ado, let’s see the steps to do this task.
Hide WhatsApp Chat
Steps
- Long press the chat (group or individual chat) that you want to hide. If you wish, you can select multiple chats.
- Now you can see the “Archive” icon at the top. The one that is beside the Overflow menu (three vertical dots).
- Tap on it and the chats will be hidden.
- That’s it. All done.
Steps to Hide All WhatsApp Chats at Once
If you want to archive all chats at once, then here are the steps you need to do:
- Tap Overflow menu (three vertical dots) at the top.
- Select Settings > Chats > Chat history.
- Tap “Archive all chats” option.
- Tap “OK” on the confirmation message.
Tap the “Archived chats” label at the bottom of the “chats” screen to see all the archived chats.
Keep in mind that the archived chat will get unarchived automatically when you receive a new message to the archived chat.

Steps to Unhide All WhatsApp Chats at Once
- Tap on the Overflow menu (three vertical dots).
- Go to Settings > Chats > Chat history.
- Tap “Unarchive all chats” option.
- Tap OK on the confirmation message.
Keep in mind that the “Unarchive all chats”option is available only if you have archived all the chats.
