Delving into the fascinating world of digital media | Digital Asia

Digital media is similar to multimedia, but there are also some differences between the two.

Digital media is more about the interaction of digital instruments such as Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), smart phones, smart watches, kiosks, billboards and tablets.

Digital media is a combination of art, design and digital interaction, and it is divided into three major areas:

(i) Web design and execution.

(ii) Audio and video (editing, special effects, sound effects etc).

(iii) Mobile game development and simultaneous interaction with different digital instruments.

Web design and execution began with basic fonts, icons, and typography that was later applied to electronic posters, web pages, applications, kiosks, and even large-scale electronic billboards and systems development.

Students enrolled in audio and video courses at Dasein Academy of Art will not only learn the intricacies of shooting, editing, special effects and sound effects, but also basic 2D and 3D techniques as well as motion graphics, which will enhance the effect of a video.

Motion graphics is also the trend in recent digital posters, and large and small billboards.

Meanwhile, mobile games development is mainly focussed on user interface (UI) designs, programmes and intelligent instrument integration.

Students will learn to write and develop different functional module codes, as well as how to combine and modify UI designs and function modules to form the gaming application.

Courses will also teach students how to apply applications to smart instruments.
