Destiny 2: How to Unlock the Malfeasance Exotic Hand Cannon | Gaming News
One of Destiny 2‘s most elusive and mysterious exotics is now available: the Malfeasance Hand Cannon. This powerful gun is earned by completing a series of quests related to The Drifter and Gambit. Here is how to snag Destiny 2‘s latest exotic weapon.
Defeat the Ascendant Primeval Servitor
The first step towards claiming one of Destiny 2‘s missing exotics is to defeat the Ascendant Primeval Servitor in a Gambit match. Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be a specific way to spawn this Voice of Riven knock-off outside of just playing Gambit. If players are lucky enough to get it to spawn, they should melt it down quickly to try to earn the new quest The Seething Heart. Once players snag the Heart, return to The Drifter to progress the quest.
Defeat Taken Bosses/Mini-Bosses in The Dreaming City
This step is pretty self-explanatory, just run around the Dreaming City and destroy major or ultra level Taken. The Blind Well is a great source of high level Taken, as it has changed to spawn Taken during this week’s reset. Alternatively, players can take on some of the Lost Sectors in the Dreaming City, as they have a large number of Taken enemies.
Clear The Corrupted Modified Strike at Power Level 580
The Corrupted is one of the new strikes added to Destiny 2 following Clan Redeem’s world first clear of the Last Wish raid. However, the special version strike tied to this quest is at a significantly higher power level than its normal version. Players will need to be at least Power Level 531 to deal damage to Power Level 580 enemies. Players will need to bring their best gear to be able to survive this modified Strike.
Business As Usual
For this quest step, players will need to return to Gambit to win matches and deposit motes. There is a catch, however. If a player drops motes by dying, they lose progress for the deposit motes part of the quest. Much like the Chaperone exotic quest, players will need to play carefully as to not lose progress. It may be better to steadily deposit five motes rather than wait to bank 15 at a time.
Lights Out
This step of the quest is a bit tricky and revolves around invading during a Gambit match. Players will need to defeat 25 guardians as an invader, not like the Cayde’s Will quest which required players to kill invaders. On top of that, players will need to (as a fireteam) kill four members of the opposing team three times. The wording of this suggests that either the player or one of the player’s teammates can invade and get the quadruple kill.
Once that step is complete, players can speak to The Drifter and be awarded the Malfeasance Hand Cannon. This exotic creates an explosion if players shoot the same target multiple times. It also deals bonus damage to Taken enemies or invading Guardians in Gambit. While it’s not clear if this gun will out-class the other exotics introduced in Forsaken, it sure does have an awesome design.
Destiny 2: Forsaken is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
