The latest Transformers movie is all about everyone’s favorite yellow automobile, but rest assured the rest of the Transformers crew will make an appearance.
A new trailer for Bumblebee stars the ghost of Optimus Prime. A war is waging between Autobots and Decepticons, with human civilization once again trapped in the middle. It’s up to Bumblebee to prevent the Decepticons from wreaking pure havoc on Earth, according to Prime. It’s unclear just how much of a role the other Autobots will have in Bumblebee, but at least we know they’ll make some kind of appearance.
Bumblebee takes place approximately 20 years before the events of the first Transformers movie. That means Sam Witwicky won’t roll with Optimus Prime; instead, Bumblebee will team up with an 18-year-old woman named Charlie. A synopsis for the film is below.
On the run in the year 1987, Bumblebee finds refuge in a junkyard in a small Californian beach town. Charlie (Hailee Steinfeld), on the cusp of turning 18 and trying to find her place in the world, discovers Bumblebee, battle-scarred and broken. When Charlie revives him, she quickly learns this is no ordinary, yellow VW bug.
Bumblebee hits theaters this holiday season.
