PUBG: Here’s When War Mode is Coming to Xbox One | Gaming News

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds‘ War will be releasing for One owners on September 21st. War Mode is a new deathmatch-style game where players hunt each other down, and unlike the title’s normal Battle Royale mode, respawn to get back into the fight.

Players of the new PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds mode can get points by getting knockdowns and kills, in addition to reviving fallen team members. As per the usual deathmatch rules, the team that reaches the score goal or has the most points when the timer runs out wins the match.

War Mode will be a temporary game mode, only being available in PUBG‘s “Event Mode” on select weekends. September 21st just marks the first weekend that we know the event will be available for Xbox One players. When the custom game feature launches for PUBG in October of this year, War Mode (presumably with any other alternate game modes) will be available for groups of players to dive into at their heart’s content, regardless of whether or not it’s the designated weekend.

Preceding the addition of War Mode will be a hotfix on September 18th, which will be applying some much-needed changes to the overall PUBG experience. To address several frame rate issues, PUBG has lowered shadow quality, decreased some post-processing effects, turned off depth of field, lens flare, refraction, particle light, and quite a few other graphical options here and there.

The changes coming in the hotfix will be downgrading the graphical quality of PUBG, but the team is hoping that it will help to patch the frame rate issues for now. There is currently no estimated date for a long-term fix for the frame rate problems. However, the PUBG team is working on them in the hopes of bringing these graphical options back up to par.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is available now on Xbox One, PC, and Mobile.
