Lifestyle Journalist Charged For Allegedly Hitting Cyclist During McLaren Press Event | Feature

A lifestyle has been with dangerous driving after allegedly hitting a cyclist during a McLaren Sports Series press event in Sydney, Australia on May 9th.

According to the Daily Telegraph, Amelia Hungerford, a journalist for Signature Luxury Travel and Style, is said to have been the one driving the exotic supercar at Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park in Sydney. The cyclist had to be taken to the hospital after suffering serious injuries to his face and legs.

Ms Hungerford has been reportedly charged with dangerous driving resulting in grievous bodily harm, negligent driving and causing bodily harm by misconduct in charge of a motor vehicle. She’s scheduled to appear in court on October 24.

If convicted, the woman could face either severe fines and even imprisonment, depending on whether or not she’ll be found guilty of all charges.

During the press event, several journalists were invited to test drive the British automaker’s Sports Series models, such as the 540C, 570S and 570GT, all of which are massively expensive and extremely fast cars, despite being entry-level options (so to speak) within the McLaren range.

In fact, all three Sports Series models are capable of hitting 60 mph (100 km/h) in less than 3.5 seconds, although at this time it’s unclear which car the woman was driving, or if rapid acceleration had anything to do with the incident.
