From No AWS Knowledge to 2 Certifications – Info Linux

Our student Nicki Hames, Associate at Pariveda Solutions, went from having absolutely zero AWS knowledge to obtaining two AWS certifications and is working on her third! She uses technology to help solve problems in her day-to-day job, and her AWS journey is driven by her motivation to learn and develop her career.

One of the main challenges for Nicki was understanding the basic concepts and essentials, but she got them down by training with Linux Academy and studying in groups (she says commitment is the hardest part). Here are her tips on how to succeed and foster a community of learning and growth:

I like to watch all the videos on Linux Academy first…and then once I get through those I can better use that information with quiz questions to reinforce the knowledge…and when I get things wrong I go back to the AWS documentation or Linux Academy videos to look up what I did wrong…it’s getting down to the details and figuring out where my gaps in knowledge are so I can better hone in with additional studying.
