Mailist Is Instapaper for Email Addicts – Info Tips and Tricks

We know we’re not supposed to let run our lives, but we do it anyway. We use email as a to-do list, as an idea saver, as a place to email ourselves notes. And if that works for you, then here’s one more tool: The free Mailist extension for Chrome and Firefox collects your unread and emails them back to you once a week.

In most cases, it’s more efficient to set up Instapaper, which collects articles for you to read later in a text-only format. But Instapaper isn’t sitting in the middle of your workflow, so you might never bother to open it and actually read anything. Mailist puts these articles into your email inbox, where they’re a little harder to ignore.

Use this if you’re better at answering emails than at opening apps. Don’t use this if you’re behind on your email. (Like many good hacks, this is about re-contextualizing tasks into a familiar system.) And remember that a free service will probably try to sell your data at some point—though currently Mailist has a decent, readable privacy policy that puts some limitations on that selling.
