How to Take Prettier Screenshots on a Mac – Info Computing
Mac: If you’re clipping a bit of text to send in a tweet or saving info from a rental car confirmation page, your standard Command-Shift-4 shortcut for a screenshot is more than adequate. But adding a couple keystrokes can make all the difference when you want to, say, include a professional-looking image of your company’s webpage in a presentation deck.
Capture a Window With Border and Drop Shadow
To capture a window with a white border and gray shadow so it looks 3-D, press Command-Shift-4, then press the space bar. When your cursor turns into a little camera, select the window you want to capture.
Capture a Window Without Border or Shadow
To remove the border and shadow, press Command-Shift-4, then press the space bar. Hold down the Option key when selecting the window and you’ll get a clean, flat, 2-D capture.
As with all MacOS screen captures, if you want to copy your selection rather than save it as an image, add the Control key—Command-Control-Shift-4 copies either of the above screenshots to your clipboard.
