How to Cancel Your MoviePass Subscription – Info Computing

The past few weeks of antics have had many MoviePass users considering hitting that unsubscribe button. A few of them, however, have found the process not quite as intuitive as they thought.

Users that have gone into the app and entered a written reason for their cancelation have found that when they do, they’re unable to press the “Cancel Subscription” button to complete their removal from the service, Business Insider notes.

If you’re having the same problem, there’s an easy fix: pick a reason for your cancelation from the drop-down menu above the cancel box.

In order for you to unsubscribe, you have to select one of those options, even if it’s not the specific reason you’ve decided to jump ship.

If you’re ready to quit the service, you first need to tap the Account button on the app’s home screen and then select “Account Details” followed by “Plan & Billing Info.” Beside your monthly plan you’ll see a “Cancel” button. Tap that, select a reason from the drop-down menu, and hit that cancel button to finish things up.

Keep in mind, if you decide to quit you won’t be able to join the service again for another 9 months. So if MoviePass turns things around you won’t be able to join again until that time has elapsed.

And if you do leave, there are a few similar options. Sinemia offers movies for a monthly fee and allows users to buy tickets in advance, and AMC has recently launched its own MoviePass rival that might be a bit more reliable.
