Smoke these Meats – Info Gadgets

Hell yeah Zucc, it surely is a good time to barbecue!

Zucc’s Summer Earnings

It is earnings season and many technology companies hope to fulfill the high expectations from today’s investors. Tonight, it was Zucc’s turn to publish his financial and barbecue results. It was also the first full quarter where investors could analyse the impact of the Cambridge Analytica debacle.

The conclusion — despite an earnings beat ($1.74 vs. $1.72 Est.) and a revenue miss ($13.23B vs. $13.36B) — Zucc is still able to afford a good brisket and rib for his big barbeque. The US & Canadian market seems to be saturated, and also the European market has a full stomach judging on the monthly active users. The Asian market and the rest of the world seems to enjoy the taste and continuous to show exponential growth to the social network firm — yet provide a rather limited contribution to overall profitability.

The flattening of user activity in the US and Canada was foreseeable — though the decrease in European user activity comes as a surprise. Are Europeans really voting with their feet following the Cambridge Analytica scandal?

In the end — Facebook performed -7% (UPDATE: -20%) in after-hours. But the real value-add analytica would be to know how much ribs and briskets Zuckerberg can buy from our daily use of social media… Let’s Go!

Pork Ribs: $15.99 per Kilo, Briskets: $17.50 per Kilo

In the US and Canada: Zucc earned $25.91 last quarter per user (!). With 241 million active users, this allows the Zucc to buy $6,244,310,000 worth of Ribs and Briskets. Meaning that Zucc could buy 357 million kilo of Briskets or 390.5 million kilo of Ribs. With the USA producing 14 billion kilo of beef and veal annually (net of carcass weight), he wouldnt be limited on the supply side but would still account for roughly 12% of the beef consumption that quarter.

In Europe: Zucc earned $8.76 last quarter per user. With 376 million active users, this allows the Zucc to buy $3,293,760,000 worth of Ribs and Briskets. Meaning that Zucc could buy 188.2 million kilo of Briskets or 206 million kilo of ribs. With the USA producing 11.5 billion kilo of beef and veal annually (net of carcass weight), he wouldn’t be limited on the supply side but would still account for roughly 4% of the beef consumption that quarter.

Oh well — there is enough for everybody it seems.. so keep smoking these meats during the hot summer!
