The Search Ads functionality is today rolling out to developers in France, Germany, Italy, Japan, South Korea, and Spain. With today’s additions, the Search Ads platform is now available in 13 countries around the world. The previous seven countries included the United States, Australia, Canada, Mexico, New Zealand, Switzerland, and the U.K.
Apple’s Search Ads feature for developers exists in two tiers: Search Ads Advanced and Search Ads Basic. The latter was originally introduced back in December for smaller developers, while the former launched in 2016.
Developers in the six new countries will be able to create campaigns with Search Ads Advanced starting immediately, with the first ads appearing throughout the App Store on August 1st, 2018 at 4PM PDT.
Meanwhile, Search Ads Basic, which was limited to the United States at launch in December, will be available to all 13 countries starting on August 22nd, 2018 at 10AM PDT. Apple is offering a $100 credit to first-time advertisers.
Developers in the newly supported countries will be able to create campaigns using Search Ads Advanced starting on July 25, 2018 at 4 PM PDT, with those campaigns appearing on the App Store starting August 1, 2018 at 4 PM PDT.
Meanwhile, Search Ads Basic will be available across all thirteen supported countries starting on August 22, 2018 at 10 AM PDT.
Search Ads Basic allows developers to significantly streamline the process of setting up App Store campaigns. They simply choose the app to be advertised, the budget for the campaign, and how much they’re willing to pay per install.
Apple tells TechCrunch that “over 70 percent of App Store visitors use search to discover apps” and that 65 percent of total installs come from search.
