I don’t get it. The reasons mentioned in the article boil down to unification. However this can’t be the full truth, as the ‘unification-advantage’ must have existed when they switched to linux initially?
Maybe employees constantly complaining about things being different than at home. Or maybe they switch back to Windows because the other members of their ‘tax consortium’ complained that they can’t do Windows-only software development? I also guess there’s not so much ‘tax-administration-software’ for linux.
Still, could it be that there are just too much difficulties with using linux on a large amount of desktops? It seems to me that most linux distros are focussing on either servers or ‘home computers’.
