A year on — our experience launching a paid, proprietary product on Linux. – Info Linux
Interesting. I’ll admit the FOSS is strong in me – it isn’t a religion, it’s just that using software is a time commitment, and I want that commitment to be in something that is available for people to fix/improve. My attitude is from being burned by software that was good, paid for, but ultimately died.
On the other hand, I absolutely applaud those who can get microsoft services and office tools to work better in linux. The industry standard for admin is still, unfortunately, microsoft, and I’m happy to pay for compatibility as it allows me to continue using an open source OS.
