netty JMX support for JVM metrics – Info Java

How netty users get the JVM metrics. I see a github issue from Mar, 2017 https://github.com/netty/netty/issues/6523 and https://github.com/netty/netty/issues/4981 which mention it is not available. I am curious how people solve this issue.
